I'm a legitimate agnostic, so I think I can provide a more unbiased response.
Theists have their right to believe, as do Atheists. Atheism is NOT the question of "is there a god". Atheism IS in fact "There is no god." The former question falls into the beliefs of Agnosticism, not Atheism. Atheists claim there is no god simply because there is no proof of it. That is a very solid argument.
Theist beliefs are grounded in faith and belief, which is also an objectively good way to live, as it inspires hope and a channel to vent your problems. How most Christians post facebook statuses like "It's all in the hands of God", or something similar, that is a good way of thinking as it makes their lives, well, happier.
Of course there is the matter that both sides take their beliefs to the extremes. There are those religious extremists such as Westboro Church and Atheists aren't all bubbles and gumballs either. (Take a look at reddit.com/r/atheism. Most immature place I've ever been on that site. WHY IS THIS A DEFAULT SUBREDDIT)
I myself as an Agnostic buy no Atheist or Theist ideas until it is 100% proven there is a God (He better show up right at my front doorstep and perform some miracles) or there isn't.
